Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway Project

1. Location:

- Starting point: on ring road No. III of Hanoi City, 1,025m away from the Northern abutment of Thanh Tri bridge towards Bac Ninh province, in Thuong Hoi hamlet, Thach Ban commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi City.

- Ending point: Dinh Vu dam, Hai An district, Hai Phong city.

2. Scale and design standards:

- The expressway is designed in conformity to expressway Class A standards with the total length of about 105.5km; 7 separate interchanges at intersections with national highways; 17 large bridges, 24 medium bridges, 22 flyovers (the total length of the bridges is about 14km)

- Design speed: 120km/h.

- The average width of the cross section is 100m, with six travel lanes (each travel lane is 3.75m wide), 2 emergency lanes, median strip, greenery strips on both sides of the expressway, frontage roads where necessary.

- An intelligent traffic control system and automatic, closed toll collection system; traffic safety facilities are designed, comprehensively installed and modern.

- Service areas (service stations, petrol stations, motels, restaurants etc.) shall be located at intersections and suitable locations.

3. Total investment cost and sources of funds for the Project:

- Total investment of the Project is about VND35,000 billion.

- The funding sources: Fund from Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Finance Investment Joint Stock Company contributed by its shareholders; loans from the Vietnam Development Bank, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam and from other sources.

- Form of investment: Build – Operate – Transfer (BOT).

- The expressway is managed, designed, supervised and constructed by international consultants and contractors

4. Form of cooperative investment.

- Provide investment fund (possibly with conditions of construction contractors).

- Participate in bidding for construction of packages under the Project.
